My meetings

During my Australian visit, I met a lot of persons. The first person I met was an aborigine called Pintupi. He said that his name is a familial heritage and he is proud of it. Pintupi told me his lifestyle. He lives in a little city next to Halls Creek in a little house not modern or comfortable. He have 2 children and they don’t go to school, their mother teach them how to cook and paint and Pintupi teach them how to fish and hunt when they move to go in the desert or in the forest. It was very interesting to meet Pintupi !

I also met an Australian historian and he told me many things about the stolen generation. We went in an aborigine camp and he said that the children’s living conditions were horrible. They didn’t have pillows or blankets and peoples who worked in the camps were really nasty. This visit was very interesting but a bit confusing because I didn’t imagine the horror that was done in these camps. The historian was really nice and told me that the horror lasted during a century and that the 1st minister made apologizes but I think it is a black period for Australia.
